The family, in general, had a history of being unable to get pregnant.

Something genetical?

I don’t think so.

It was a God thing.

Sometimes that happens!

Grandpa had it the easiest.

Because God had kept reassuring him he’d have descendants like the night sky has stars.

And he brought him outside and said,

“Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.”

Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”

Gen 15:5

But oops.

Grandpa messed up.

Abram went in to Hagar, and she conceived.

Gen 16.4

Actually, it was Grandma’s idea.

Sarai said to Abram… “Go in to my servant;

it may be that I shall obtain children by her.”

Gen 16.2

But she made it clear, afterwards, that it was all his fault.

Sarai said unto Abram, my wrong be upon thee

Gen 16.5 [KJV]

Gentlemen, this is part of what it means to be priest and head of the home.

He must manage his own household well,

with all dignity keeping his children submissive,

for if someone does not know how to manage his own household,

how will he care for God's church?

1 Tim 4.4-5

The buck ends up with us.

No holding back

The grain offering initiated in Leviticus 2, was just prior to the Million Man March in the desert that lasted 40 years (I am exaggerating for the sake of alliteration, it was probably closer to 600,0
