We are encouraged to be renewed in the spirit of our mind (Eph 4.23). Hmm, I did not even know my mind has a spirit.

And we are invited to be transformed by the renewal of our mind (Ro 12.2).

Now, in Phil 2.5, Paul tells us to think like Jesus. He writes:

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

I am also particularly challenged by 1 Cor 2.16: we have the mind of Christ.

Yet, today, I am struck by Peter’s problem, which is Marcos’ challenge:

“Set your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

Mt 16.23

But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

This certainly makes Peter look like a scumbag.

But I turn to the guy in the mirror and say, do not kid yourself, Mr S.B.
