Peace and blood

We read, in Col 1.20, that:

and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven,

Let’s continue on with the rest of the line:

making peace by the blood of his cross.

 

His blood establishes peace. Our hostilities with God are ended.

 

Paul said just about the same thing to the Romans in chapter 5, verses 1 and 11:

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God… we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, having now received reconciliation. 

 

When I was a hippie, we’d say, “Peace and love.”

Today I rejoice in the “Peace and blood!”
