None like Him among the gods

In my last post I mused a bit on Psalm 86. It has continued to be in my rereading and, this morning as I sit in New Delhi, I find it to be even more significant.
There is none like you among the gods, O Lord
Our friends here in India have 330 million gods.
David reminds us that there is no one like Jesus, the one true God.
Then David reveals to us, an end-of-the-story truth
All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.
More accurately, it is an end-of-that-period-of-time truth.
Because it is simply the opening of the curtain to what John saw in Rev 7.9:
I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands
As David’s quill writes about today, I stand holding hands with him, asking for the very same:
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.
I long to walk only in His truth
I yearn to fear only His name.
And, oh how I wait to see all the nations come and worship Him!
