Later on, Moises’ quill is going to tell us way too much information about temple measurements,

the colors of the curtains, and who begat whom.

But here in Ex 2.10-11 he quickly glosses over his own story.

He was born conceived and born in verse 2.

The woman conceived and bore a son,

and when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months.

Ex 2.10

Well, that covers the first 9 months, plus three.

Suddenly, in verse 11, he is 40 years old.

One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people

and looked on their burdens,

and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his people.

Ex 2.11

I mean, I know kids grow up fast, but this is overkill!

more tomorrow, Lord willing…
