I hope I am not boring you with these months that I have been soley

in the first seven chapters of Leviticus.

Chapters 1-5 define and gives instructions for the five major types of offerings

  1. (ălâ)  Burnt Offering

  2. (minḥâ)  Grain/Meal Offering

  3. (šĕlāmîm)  Peace/Fellowship Offering

  4. (ḥṭʾh)  Sin Offering

  5. (ʾăšāmô)  Trespass/Guilt Offering

Then, six and seven give us “laws” about each of them, which,

essentially, are more details as to how they are to happen.

Now I turn to chapter eight.

Aaron and his four sons get dressed in their new clothes,

then they, and the tabernacle, and everything in it get consecrated.

There are plenty of things to muse on here.

Firstly, God tells Moses,

…assemble all the congregation at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Lev 8.3

We know that about 600,000 men crossed the red sea, plus families.

Two, three, four million people?

So how did that work, everyone at the one door of the tabernacle?

I don’t know, but I have no doubts.

Honey
