The other day I said:

I don’t need bribing, I’m not chasing a carrot on a string.

Rewards are nice, but I want to live my life right because I am thankful for Who He is and what He has done.

Period. Period.

But this morning as I open up again to the Sermon on the Plain and/or Mount I discover my hypocrisy.

Jesus teaches:

Judge not, that you be not judged.

and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

I realize that this verse zigs and zags back and forth in my head.

I keep it there as a reminder not to judge.

Not so much the first six words, but the second sentence.

So much for my high and mighty talk about doing the right things for the right reason.
