We are hanging out with JohnB still, yet, and again.

He didn’t know he was Elijah.

He did know he was not worthy to unstrap sandals.

And today he insists that Jesus should be baptizing him, not the other way around.

Note that Jesus doesn’t say, “Oh no, it’s not like that.” He more or less says, “Yeah, you’re right 'cous, but grin and bear it, let’s do it this way 'to fulfill all righteousness'.”

To fulfill all righteousness...

I don’t get it. I’ve mused, but I am still confused.


I know Jesus came to fulfill the law, but how does getting baptized by John fulfill righteousness?
