As an ex-hippie (sometimes I suspect I’m not so “ex”), I pay a lot of attention to the peace and love verses.

Case in point, I am always excited by the peace of Romans 5.1

Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God.

I have peace with God.

And I embrace the peace of John 14.27 [MSV]

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not what the hippies talked about. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

I know I can be untroubled and unafraid, because I have the peace of Jesus.

Likewise, I seek to be ruled by the peace Colossians 3.15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart.

I am tuned into my heart, listening to when Jesus is putting peace there,

understanding that this is part of how He guides me.

And, finally, today I bless you with what Peter shares in the final nine words of his letter.

Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

Peace to you.

In all its sundry flavors.

Peace.
