The day after

One day post-baptism Jesus meanders by. John speaks up,

“Behold the Lamb of God.”

Two of JB’s disciples hear this and do a 180, they follow Jesus.

The lamb turned around and asked,

“What’s up fellas?”

Probably the two men simply did not know how to put into words what they were thinking, or what they were seeking. The took the easy route and said,

“So where are you staying tonight?”

(There are quite a few people in Bible who were not good at giving straight answers)

The two men spent the afternoon and evening with Jesus. By morning, at least one of them—Andrew—was sure this is what and whom he’d been looking for.

But...

But first, he goes to find his bro, Simon. And what he told Simon shows that Andrew had truly grasped the big picture:

“We have found the Messiah.”

I’m thinking Andy was the oldest, otherwise Simon would have said,

“Lil’ brother, like always, you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Surprisingly, we don’t even know what talkative Pete responded—he was not often at a loss for words.

Simon Peter went with Andrew.

Andrew went to Jesus.

Next thing we know, by the day after, they are both disciples.
