Then the gang of twelve arrived, stunned to see their Jesus talking to this hussy. Not even Peter dared put his foot in his mouth.

One of the guys said, “We brought the tacos, with lots of chile, just like You like.” “Sounds good,” says Jesus, “but I’m not really hungry.”

“Hmmm,” they whispered to each other behind his back, “did someone show up with tamales?”

Jesus spoke:

“There is a harvest to bring in, work to be done.

And I don’t mean mañana, I mean now.

And My food—what really gives Me nourishment and strength—is, quite simply, to be doing, and to complete, the work that God is telling us to be doing.”

Marcos says, let’s eat. Let’s eat the food that Jesus loved to eat… “to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.” John 4.34
