Yesterday, I noted that for certain sacrifices,
the animal’s blood needed to be taken
into the tabernacle and applied to the altar of incense.
I failed to mention, however, that the priest was to dip his finger in the blood
and sprinkle it there in front of the curtain
that separated the holy place from the holy of holies.
He was to sprinkle it 7 times.
The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle part of the blood
seven times before the Lord in front of the veil of the sanctuary.
Lev 4.6
Seven, of course, is one of God’s favorite numbers.
It’s His way of saying “Perfect!”
Yes, that’s it!
We, being made perfect, draw near to Jesus.
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience
Hebrews 10.22
