This, I should have been able to figure out by myself, because I claim to be both a “Matthew man” and a “Sermon on the Mount” guy. Yeah, well, so much for that!

This thing about the eye being the lamp of the body; does that mean my body shines out through my eye? Or is it that my eye is bringing light into my body?

Then it continues, perplexing me further, stating that if my eye is healthy, my whole body will be full of light. Ah, but if my eye is bad… my whole body will be full of darkness.

Perhaps this is not so noxious as Satan vs Satan the other day, but on the other hand, maybe it is.

Feel free to “enlighten” me. Mt 6:22-23

(Lucas is more extensive: 11:33-36)
