Self, don't remind me

Leviticus 5 opens up talking about people who commit certain wrongs,

and it is hidden from them.

Hmmm, says I, how do I do it and manage to hide it from myself?

I’d have to be a pretty creative sinner.

For example, 5.4 says

if anyone utters with his lips a rash oath…and it is hidden from him…

I said something and it is hidden from me?

Maybe, rather than “hidden,” I simply forgot about it?

Again, a touch of creativity as I comfortably told myself,

“Self, don’t remind me.”
