I have been in the opening of David’s prayer in Ps 86 for a few days now, and I am challenged.


Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

It seems to me that His ear is so inclined to me, making me anything but poor and needy.

 

Preserve my life, for I am godly;

Me, godly? Tell me another joke.

 

save your servant, who trusts in you—you are my God.
