Negotiating with God

The second half of 14/Jer is much like yesterday’s first half… “we’re a bunch of losers, but c’mon God, give us a break, even though we don’t deserve it.”

I see this in 14.21, “Do not spurn us, for your name's sake; do not dishonor your glorious throne.”

It is reminiscent of how Moses would negotiate with the Lord in the desert. “If You delete the whole batch of them, it is really going to be a stain on your resumé. Your enemies will delightfully chant,`”You failed with your own folks!”

It is as if they are appealing to the ego of only guy around who has no ego.
