Another quick clip from Nehemiah as I continued my reading there this morning:

“The joy of the LORD is your strength.” (8:10)

I consider joy an option to be chosen.

It is the option I choose.

I open up most of my morning prayer walks with, “This is the day that the Lord has made, and I choose to rejoice and be glad in it.”

To be alive in Christ is to live with joy.
