They had an inkling

And then there is verse 10 in chapter one Pete’s epistle.

The prophets of old knew something was up, they just could not put their finger on it, so they were crazily searching the internet.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully…

1 Peter 1.10

They were prophesying about grace, those guys who liked saying, “Thus saith the Lord.”

I count 35 appearances of the word “grace,” in the First (Old) Testament. But most of those do not carry the depth of richness of the grace that we find in Ephesians 2.8.

For by grace you are saved, through faith.

But going back to the prophets… they had an inkling that salvation was coming, that it would come by grace.

And that it was coming for Marcos.
