Paul wants these young believers to be strong on the inside (Col 1.11).

 

May you be strengthened with all power…

 

What power?

…according to His glorious might

 

And what does this power do for me?


It give me stick-to-it-ness, and it pours patience in me, I think so as to grasp that not all things happen the way I think they should happen, and the things I want and “need”, certainly take their time in arriving—if they even arrive at all!


for all endurance and patience

 And as I wait, and wait, and wait,

instead of pulling on my hair,

I walk in joyfulness.

 

for all endurance and patience with joy

 

Oh, that joy of the Lord, it truly is my strength!
