Matthew nine is a “here and there” chapter. Each of the seven stories in this opens with someone coming or going:

Verse 1: Jesus getting into a boat.
Verse 9: Jesus passed on from there
Verse 14: Disciples of John coming to Him.
Verse 18: Jairus came in and knelt before Him.
