Her heart; His eyes

Yeah, she was a lady of poor reputation.

A Samaritan.

You and I are surrounded by Samaritans on all sides.

Losers.
God haters.
Selfish maniacs.
Despicables.

Or, that is how we tend to see them when we do not look at them through God’s eyes.

I notice three things Ms. Sama said to Jesus; three spiritual observations, if you will:

“Sir, I think you are a prophet.”
“I don’t get this thing about where we’re supposed to worship God.”
“We are waiting for the Messiah to come; He will explain things clearly to us.”

Look at the heart of this lady.

Sure, she’s made some poor life choices, but her mind and heart are full of things she is trying to understand about God.

My hat off to you, Ms. Sama. You help me to remember just how precious are those who surround me on every side.

I dare not look at them and judge.

I look to them with God’s eyes, and I love them as He does.
