Then he took the fish [John 6.11] and again put into action the powerful tactic of thanksgiving.

He gave thanks, and suddenly, there were fish swimming all over the place.

OK, maybe not swimming.

But were they dead or were they jumpy?

Were they whole or were they filleted?

Were they cooked, or was it ceviche?

Sometimes I muse on insignificant details.

The next verse says Jesus had the disciples gather up the leftovers so that nothing be lost. The very same principle he has about human beings, he has about multiplied bread and fish…

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19.10

And in Jn 6.39 He tells us it is a Like Father, like Son thing:

"And this is the will of Him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me…"

There are the lost.

And there are the finders.

I truly just want to be about finding.
