Dwell

I’ve always had a bit of a personal relationship with Ps 91. In part because, as a very young believer, I read Jim Elliot’s diary published by his widow, Elizabeth, “In the Shadow of the Almighty.”
The book, the man, and his martyrdom impacted me deeply and permanently. And so, Psalm 91 became my friend.
I picked it up the other day and was abruptly halted by the third word, “He who dwells.”
Do I dwell in the shelter of the Most High?
No, I don’t.
I visit, very politely, and also frequently.
I visit to read, to discuss, to worship, to study for a class or a preaching.
But, quite frankly, it is simply not where I dwell.
But now that He brought it bubbling to the surface, I am working on it.
