Before Genesis

Now comes the meaty part.


It catches my heart to realize that Paul (we believe) and the fisherman John, were the only two New Testament gentlemen who did short-term trips to heaven. And both of them are dedicated to helping us understand something rather important:

Jesus is God.

 

Paul, here in Colossians 1.15, opens the curtain on the subject, revealing to us that Jesus is the visible part of that which is unseeable. And He who forever is, way back prior to Genesis chapter zero, is also the firstborn of the going-ons of Genesis.

 

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
