A very dull saw blade

OK, so have I been sleeping that I missed, for the past 51 years, the simple truth of Gn 18.1?

 

And the LORD appeared to him

Gn 18.1

 

I have thought myself sharper than a saw blade

because I reached the conclusion that the three men

who came to Abraham’s tent that hot afternoon,

were two angels and God.

 

Duh.

 

It’s right there in print!

Or at least the God part is.

You don’t have to read between the lines,

or check out the context,

or understand the cultural norms,

or look it up in the original language..

 

God came a’knocking.
