A Tricky Question

The way I see it, Jesus’ suggestion that Ms. Sama bring her husband was a trick.

A bit like, “Abraham, sacrifice Isaac now that you have him on the altar,” as God whispered to the angels, “Let’s see what he does.”

Or, like when Jesus said to the rich young ruler, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.”

Same as God was waiting for Abe to raise that knife in the air, He was was waiting for the RYR to say, “That’s exactly why I call You good, because You are God.”

That would have been the correct answer.

Jesus was fishing to see where the RYR was at; but Mr. RYR did not pass the test.

But Ms. Sama passed the test.

“Go get your husband.”

Perhaps, just for a second, she thought about trying to round them all up and get them there.

But, she opted for just spilling out the truth to Jesus. Well, part of the truth, at least.

“I don't have a husband.”

A hundred points to Ms. Sama here with the bucket, for her correct answer!
