A relaxed followers of Jesus?

After salt and light there is a pivotal pair of verses… Jesus did not come to cancel what God told Moses, He came to bring it to fruition.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Mt 5.17-18

Perhaps folks were getting the wrong idea, they saw Him healing on sabbaths and talking to Samaritan women and going to parties and hanging around with the wrong crowd.

And He uses a word in Greek that, to me, really hits the nail on the head… “anyone who RELAXES even one of these commandments is cruisin’ for a bruisin’!” (that’s how my mom would have said it). But it is the word “relaxes'' that catches my eye. We are so willing to be relaxed followers of Jesus.

Can there even be such a thing?
