This morning in Colossians

 

God… having forgiven us all our trespasses

Col 2.13c

 

Hmmm, that sound vaguely familiar.

Like I heard it somewhere on a mountain.

Although here it is even better than I remember 

because here it includes the gigantic word “all!”

 

ALL our trespasses have been forgiven!

 

The verb tense of “having forgiven,”

according to my sloppy grasp of English grammar,

is the “perfect participle.”

 

And that sounds perfectly perfect to me because it has all been taken care of.
